So who the heck is Chad Rapper??  Well, I’ve been in the burbs of Chicago all my life. My love for cars started when I was a teen and bought my first car which was a 1970 Chevy Chevelle. It had a 350 bored 30 over and it was my life. That was my first taste of a car with a little bit of speed behind it but I knew it wasn’t going to be my last. I’ve had several cars since then but nothing crazy. My last car was a Saab 9.3 Turbo. Again nothing too crazy but it had nice little pep when needed. The Saab was finally getting tired and I knew I wanted something that was somewhat professional yet sporty.

About 4 years ago is when I first noticed the G35 Coupe and every time I saw it all I could think was damn, that’s a sexy car. I had done some research and went and test drove the G for the first time…that was all I needed. I loved the way the seats held me in place and how responsive the car was. Just the natural sound of the G’s exhaust alone is enough to get one excited and anytime one drives by, you know exactly what it was even if you didn’t see it. So I decided that the G was the car I had to have. It was the perfect blend of sporty sophistication. It’s really kinda like a mullet. It can be professional but when it’s ready to rock, it rocks.

When I went for my first oil change I noticed a Chicagoz.com sticker on someone’s car at the dealership so when I went home I looked up the site to see what it was all about. That was all I needed and at that point I had a bad feeling my wallet was going to be a lot lighter from that point on. Initially I just wanted to get a nice set of wheels and that was it. Well that was like someone saying I’m going to try heroin just this one time….not likely. So then I found a nice true dual exhaust for a good price, then I had to lower the car and then I “needed” a body kit etc etc.

When modding a car there is a fine line between nice, clean and aggressive and HOLY CRAP WHAT DID YOU DO??? I like to think I chose the first option. My goal in building this car was to have something that was clean, beautiful and hopefully snap a few necks while I was at it. As I got more into the car I learned more about the history of the Skyline and what a rich car culture that surrounds it. Once learning more about its history, I had an even greater sense of pride about the car and a better bond with those that understand what this car really is and what it represents.

I was in my first car show in Oct of ‘07 just to have fun with some friends and to help represent our car club. Much to my shock, I ended up taking 2nd place in the Import tuner division. I was amazed at what a rush it was. All the work I started having done on my car was now noticed by others and appreciated and that felt great. In 2008 I dove into the show scene much more and had pretty nice success taking home 8 trophies with one of them being for 1st place in the Infiniti Mild category at Hot Import Nights Chicago. Showing my car and getting to hang with my friends while doing it is probably one of my favorite things to do during the summer. Now with Team Project X we get to take showing our cars to the next level and step our game up to show people our passion for our cars and we get to reflect our personalities to a much larger crowd on a more regular basis. It’s going to be a fun ride.  xXx

RPM + Success!

We had a great time showing at RPM a couple weeks ago and we all thought the show brought out some really impressive cars. Well it looks like my OCD with keeping my car clean paid off as I took home the White Glove Award for cleanest car. I’m looking forward to next year. Here’s a pic from the show.
